WoW: Legion Release Date – August 30th 2016

So it seems we’ve got an official release date out of the blue for World of Warcraft: Legion on August 30th, 2016. This is somewhat surprising since I’m trying to keep optimistic, especially with the current state of the game because I originally thought the Legion would be out in mid-late July. What’s strange is that Legion is still officially in Alpha and usually we’d get an expansion release date during Beta and two months before the release date. As it stands, we still have four months until Legion’s release, which will make Patch 6.2 as a 14 month long patch. Doesn’t sound too good on the subscriber count! Although, the good thing is that Blizzard will be working on Legion for 3-4 more months and then it’ll be all about content patches!

Pax East is just 5 days away so we may see some information about Legion’s pre-patch or even a date for when the official Beta will start. Who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see!

You can check out the full press release here and some information on the pre-order bonuses and the collector’s edition price (woah…$89.99/£64.98!) below.

  • Pre-ordering grants your Level 100 character boost immediately and eventual early access to the Demon Hunter class.
  • The digital deluxe edition gives you the Illidari Felstalker MountNibbles Pet, Felstalker Mount in Heroes, SC2 Portraits, and Diablo III Wings & Helm transmog.
  • The collector’s edition is available on Amazon for $89.99/£64.98.
