Update: The Pre-Expansion Patch is confirmed to release on July 19th.
Hey Azeroth heroes (or villains if you swing that way)! Last Friday was a particularly exciting day for us World of Warcraft fans with the Warlords PvP Season 3 ending being announced on July 19th (20th for EU).
and judging by previous expansions, the Legion pre-patch is likely to go live on same day, and it has been that way since The Burning Crusade.
Now we all know why this is the best news to come out of World of Warcraft this year because it marks the end of an expansion that hasn’t delivered. It’s as simple as that. The pre-patch brings in some new content, changes and also some removals of existing content. Today we’ll look at what we’re saying goodbye to once the pre-patch launches.
hopefully in 8 days (but who’s counting? :P).
The Brawler’s Guild Season 2 will come to an end and it’s not returning in it’s current form for Legion. Blizzard are planning on giving it an overhaul it before adding it back in. It’s time it got some attention since Season 2 didn’t offer anything for those who completed Season 1.
“Sorry, [class name]. Guild’s closed down for renovations right now. Boss-man said something about preparing for the next big thing.”
Challenge Mode Dungeons
All Warlords of Draenor Challenge Mode dungeons will be removed when patch 7.0 goes live and any achievements and rewards will become rare. There is however the Arsenal: Draenor Challenger’s Armaments item you can purchase for 10,000 gold from the Challenge Mode vendor that will grant you all the weapon rewards as account-wide transmogrification. If you want these rewards, you haven’t got much longer!
Honor and Conquest changes
All Honor and Conquest points will be converted into gold at a rate of 35 silver per point. So if you need an extra bit of gold, now’s the time to get stockpiling. Rated Battleground and Arena matches will also not be available until Legion Season 1, which is after August 30th.
Garrison Gold and Pet Charm Nerfs
The amount of gold you can get is going to be significantly reduced and the number of Pet Charms you can receive from all sources will have the same treatment. If you’re still subscribed to the game, I’d get as much gold and charms as you can.
Hellfire Citadel Nerfs
Both the Cutting Edge and Ahead of the Curve achievements for Hellfire Citadel will become Feats of Strength and no longer obtainable after the patch 7.0 hits. If you’re still working on these, you’ve only got 8/9 days to go (it seems)! After the patch, Hellfire Citadel will also receive a 30% nerf that is applied as a debuff to every enemy in the raid. After testing the changes on the PTR (Public Test Realm) however, the debuff needs to be increased to at least 40/50% because a lot of specs are doing far less damage than they can do on live. My Destruction Warlock is doing almost half the burst and sustain damage that I can do on live on a single target fight! LFR Archimonde is also currently beating tanks to pulp on the PTR.
Legendary Ring Quest Line
As with the legendary quest line in Mists of Pandaria, the legendary quest line in Warlords of Draenor cannot be started from fresh once the patch goes live. If you’ve already started it (from Chapter II) however, you can still finish it, but you can only do so as long as you complete it before the Legion expansion launches on August 30th. Get working!
No Major Glyphs
All Major Glyphs will be removed with the addition of the updated Glyph system. You aren’t restricted to 3 Minor Glyphs and if you do have any Glyphs, you only need to apply it to the corresponding spell/ability in your spell book, but you can only have one Glyph per spell/ability.
Warlords Season 3 PvP
As said earlier in this post, Warlords PvP Season 3 will come to an end on July 19/20th. Check out the official post here.
That’s all folks! What are going to miss from this list when patch 7.0 goes live? Have you still got some of these to check off your list? Give us a comment, we don’t bite!
