Removing a Profession is Madness!
At first I thought to myself “removing a profession would be ridiculous!”, but one of the builds shows that Tailoring has some bandages added to its skill list. After a bit of thought it isn’t a bad idea, especially as it would be the best time with all the changes to the old world lately.
Along with that, here’s a list of the rest of the bandages that have been flagged as a Tailoring skill so far:
- Heavy Mageweave Bandage
- Heavy Runecloth Bandage
- Heavy Silk Bandage
- Heavy Wool Bandage
- Mageweave Bandage
- Runecloth Bandage
- Silk Bandage
- Wool Bandage
To back this up, there are also many First Aid achievements that are flagged as Legacy in the latest World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth alpha build, for example Stocking Up and Ultimate Triage. It doesn’t make much sense to remove them if First Aid isn’t going under a revamp.
A Revamp is Needed
First Aid hasn’t actually been relevant in a very long time. The Legion bandage, Silkweave Bandage only heals for 336,000 health, which is but a fraction of the 5 million+ health pools players have nowadays. I can’t even remember the last time I used a bandage, but it must have been during the early days of the Cataclysm expansion. I think the profession could do with some love, don’t you? : D
If there is a revamp or merge with Tailoring, I would definitely welcome it as it’s just a profession that you can use just to get achievement points. When actually, the whole point of the profession is to heal and cure yourself or others of poisons etc.
It would make to sense to merge it with Tailoring as they share materials anyway and there isn’t much to First Aid apart from healing, curing poisons and treating bleeds, but it would also be interesting to see what new skills Blizzard can come up with.
Would you prefer a First Aid revamp or for it to completely merge with the Tailoring profession?
